Biography

Anne Gardon specializes in organization development in the not-for-profit sector and has 25 years of experience as a consultant. The focus of Anne's work is facilitating inclusive forums in which individuals, groups and institutions build agreements for effectively working together. In this arena she has consulted to the formation of a national network organization of leadership development programs and planning by diverse stakeholders in sexual and reproductive rights and health in Mexico.

She has facilitated large group (or whole system) planning sessions with up to 100 participants representing diverse and divergent view points, and consulted to executives, boards of directors and managers in the creation of effective leadership and work teams. Anne's follow-up with clients includes coaching individual executive and board leaders as they translate strategy into action, lead change and manage people in transition.

Anne's client list is notable for the diversity of organizations she has worked with, from international foundations to grassroots community organizations. Her experience spanning human services, education, health care, environmental advocacy and the arts translates into a strong base of knowledge about issues in nonprofit management and the needs of organizations at different stages in their development. Anne speaks Spanish and has consulted to international organizations, and in Mexico and Spain.

Anne is a faculty advisor at the Institute for Not-for-Profit Management at Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and a member of the editorial review board of the OD Practitioner, published by the national association of organization development professionals. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University at San Francisco.
